If you take good care of your dentures, they will not only fit better but last longer too! They will feel better in your mouth and your smile will look its best. You’ll also be able to speak, chew and eat more easily. To make sure your dentures get the proper care they need to serve you well, we recommend the following:

Cleaning
You want to take out your dentures every day to get rid of plaque (like your natural teeth). Neglecting your denture cleaning routine can leave them dull and discolored. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush or denture brush to gently clean them, as scratches can harbor bacteria that cause odors. Treat your denture gently to keep from bending any attachments. Use cool or lukewarm (never hot) water to remove any lingering food particles.

Rinsing
Every time you eat you leave behind food particles and oral debris that can become lodged between your gums and your dentures. Rinse well with water every time you eat and brush your teeth. This helps keep dental plaque from building up.

Removing
Take out your full or partial dentures nightly so that your gum tissue gets a chance to rest from supporting the denture all day. Rinse your mouth with water or a mouthwash for ease of removal. To take out your top denture, put your thumb against the front teeth and push upward and outward. Take out your bottom denture by gently pulling on it with a rocking movement.

Handling
Handle your dentures carefully and protect them when you take them out of your mouth. You can place a towel down or fill your sink with water water in case you accidentally drop them.

Storing
Keep your dentures moist by soaking them in water or a denture-safe cleaning solution. This will help prevent them from drying out and warping.

If you take good care of your dentures just like you would your teeth they will take good care of you!
